Wheat, also known as King Wheat, had been one of the founders of the Four Corner Hustlers on the West Side. In an attempt to mitigate the effects of such a violent repression, reduce violence within their ranks, and to make the gang look better in the eyes of the public, the original founding members agreed to several changes within the organization they were leading.
