Walked around the inside of the stadium before the concert and saw John Reid (Eltons mgr+ at the time) watching the stadium fill up from one of the entrances too shy to talk to him. The year before was better who can forget The Band, Jonie Mitchell, CSN&Y with half the Beatles on stage with the towards the end. On 1 May, reporters were gathered inside the Fifth Avenue Hotel on 9th Street in New York City's Greenwich Village to attend a press conference where the Stones were scheduled to appear. Im sure The Beach Boys did a number dedicated to London; have I imagined this?
